Which are the couples who really need IVF treatment?

Male infertility – Sperm concentration <15 Mill./ml, motility <40%, morphological normality <4% (Based on WHO Human Semen 5th Edition)

Tubal damage or blockage attributable to past pelvic infection or surgery

Endometriosis – Endometrium grows outside the uterus, involving inside and outside the ovaries, behind the uterus and around the fallopian tubes, causing pelvic adhesions or adverse impacts on the functions of the ovaries and fallopian tubes

Problems in immune system

Problems in ovulation – e.g. PCOS, over- or under-weight, hormone imbalance

Age – Female fertility starts to decline after the age of 35

Unexplained infertility – After appropriate history and investigations, no cause can be found
